Great Utility Pedal from the best in the business

I use this Boss Line Selector to go direct to my amp, bypassing about 20 effects. The effects are in line A, then further separated out into 3 loops in a Xena Gamma tail looper. I can set my amp volume louder so that I can play dynamically when the effects loop A is bypassed, and turn the loop level down on this pedal so that it isn't too loud when I engage the freight train of sound.

And for the first time in my life, I've been able to measure the difference in volume and overall tonal character of, say, a series of effects, or just one effect, to figure out how much it's really degrading the signal. This pedal is worth the price for this alone. I've figured out that what I thought was sucking out tone or changing the signal was actually not doing what I perceived it was doing. And I've been able to identify weak pedals and compensate by placing buffers directly in front of them. That's great news because these pedals have made it back to my pedal board. Our imaginations get the best of us. But we can use this pedal to understand the truth of how a pedal or series of effects influences the sound, and put our minds at ease. I've reintroduced so many pedals since I got this Line Selector. And it makes me happy because now I have all those pedals to play with, and if I get sick of them, I can just bypass them with this pedal! Instead of taking them off the board and then putting them back at a later date. That takes so much time. Head games are over.

I read Tom H's comments about still hearing the signal of Line B, for example, when you've selected Line A. That's not the case for me. Maybe his pedal has some uncommon issues? I've literally bought about 30 Boss pedals or more over the years and rarely ever have issues with them, only 2 issues I can think of in 45 years of playing on them. I prefer Boss over other brands because they've held up on tours I've done and when I'm gigging a lot. I have some Boss pedals in use today that have been with me for 20 to 30 years.
