While the original M6 has set the global standard for closed mechanics for half a century, the new M6 offers numerous improvements and innovations without losing its unique aura.
Since its premiere in 2014, the “Open Back” GrandTune mechanics series with Schaller's 18:1 Velvet-Tec™ technology has found its place on many of the finest headstock in our industry.

The new M6 is available in an impressive variety of designs and details.
Important:
1.) The new M6 has the same installation dimensions as its predecessor and can therefore be exchanged easily and without modifications!
2.) For the clamping/locking variant, please select the corresponding locking adjustment axis. In the picture you can see the difference.
In addition, the new M6 flange washer enables problem-free assembly and permanent and solid centering of the axis. This original Schaller innovation simplifies the installation of the M6 mechanism and provides additional protection for the perfect function and durability of your tuning mechanism. The fret washer reliably centers the string axis and eliminates the need for a stepped hole in the headstock. This function eliminates the overturning moment and takes the pressure off both the string axis and the fastening screw on the back.

The Schaller classic - already more than 7 million sets sold! Gear ratio 1:12. On request we also offer an M6 version for luthiers with PIN or a 135° lug with a 1:16 gear ratio.
- All sealed tuners are lubricated with Schaller special grease for lifetime maintenance-free service.
- All parts are precision-crafted and surface-finished, the self-locking drive ensures an even, delicate and steady tuning.
- All string posts are made of high-grade brass and fitted into the housing with utmost precision, ensuring the best possible tuning accuracy and wear resistance.
- Besides the standard combinations (e.g. 6-in-line or 3/3), all tuner sets may also be ordered with any quantity of left and right tuners.
- The banjo bolt has a standard length of 13mm; alternatively, it can be supplied with a 12mm or 16mm length as desired
