Description
The Tascam FR-AV2 is a compact and full-featured audio recorder for filmmakers that combines the latest 32-bit float technology with timecode generation and synchronization. Not only does it provide a significantly enhanced listening experience, it also simplifies the entire process from recording to editing. Synchronize the recorder with industry-standard video equipment without the need for an external timecode device. And use the optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter for wireless monitoring. Record without clipping Thanks to the FR-AV2 's advanced 32-bit float recording at up to 192 kHz, you'll never have to discard a recording due to distortion or too low a level. When recording at lower bit widths, i.e. 24-bit and 16-bit, loud signal sources can cause digital clipping that cannot be corrected later. The use of a dual analogue-to-digital converter enables recording with greater dynamic range and transparency - so you can increase the level of dialogue scenes without degrading sound or dynamics. Premium XLR/TRS combo connectors Connect professional line-level microphones and sources directly to the FR-AV2 's two Ultra-HDDA preamps. With an extremely low equivalent input noise of just -127 dBu, you can record audio with maximum clarity and virtually noise-free. Plus, the stereo mini-jack input gives you the option of using wireless microphones, lavalier microphones and any other audio sources you may have in your arsenal. Ultimate timecode generation With the FR-AV2 you can reduce your camera equipment and take less material with you to shoots. The recorder sends and receives timecode via its mini-jack connectors for DSLR cameras and also supports jam sync for external timecode devices. The optional AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter also allows you to wirelessly sync timecode to supported Atomos UltraSync Blue devices. Bluetooth monitoring The optional AT-BT2 Bluetooth adapter allows you to wirelessly monitor audio during the event. Choose from three quality levels to ensure you get the best possible signal depending on your recording environment, including connection quality, sound quality and latency. Wired and Bluetooth monitoring work in parallel, so two people can always listen in at the same time.
