Beyerdynamic MC 950 (2023 version)

The MC 950 shares the same DNA as the MC 930: flexibility, high quality workmanship, excellent technical properties and a clever design. What sets it apart and makes it special is its supercardioid characteristic. Whether in the studio or live, you can rely on the MC 950 ! Thanks to its largely linear frequency response, the MC 950 real condenser microphone is suitable for use on various signal sources such as pianos, choirs, orchestras or solo instruments of all kinds. The microphone also delivers excellent results for speech and singing recordings in combination with the WS 101 windscreen . The MC 950 particularly shines where side noise needs to be effectively suppressed. Equipped with an almost frequency-independent supercardioid characteristic, the microphone has excellent sound suppression at 140° or 220°. Thanks to switchable attenuation (-15 dB), the MC 950 can also be used on loud instruments. Disturbing bass frequencies and low mids, such as those caused by impact noise or proximity effects, can be reduced by the switchable low cut with 6 dB/octave at 250 Hz. The microphone works with a phantom power of 11 - 52 V. Thanks to the light gold-coated membrane, the MC 950 has excellent vibration and impulse behavior. This means that signals are reproduced naturally and precisely throughout the event. The hand-made real capacitor capsule is characterized by excellent transient reproduction and therefore also reproduces percussive sounds quickly.
