With the handytraxx 1bit, Japanese music electronics specialist KORG presents a unique, mobile turntable with an integrated Nutube tube equalizer and 1-bit converter for archiving analog vinyl treasures in high-resolution DSD digital format. Thanks to its compact design and low weight, the handytraxx 1bit can be easily taken anywhere. Since it can even be battery-operated if desired and features a headphone output and an integrated stereo speaker system, it enables mobile vinyl enjoyment even when there isn't a power outlet nearby. The design of the handytraxx 1bit clearly focuses on a high-quality sound experience. The turntable is made of die-cast aluminum to enable precise rotation. The output pitch is continuously digitally monitored to immediately counteract any fluctuations. The universal tonearm allows the use of other headshells and systems to individually adjust the turntable's sound to your preferences. An adjustable counterweight ensures the correct needle pressure (up to four grams). A J44A 7MM cartridge from Japanese manufacturer JICO is installed ex works, delivering a particularly dynamic, powerful sound. An integrated 2-band phono equalizer with KORG's proprietary Nutube tube technology ensures precise sound adjustments with the harmonic saturation typical of vacuum tubes. The Nutube is technically constructed in the same way as a classic tube (cathode, anode, and grid), but is significantly smaller and more energy-efficient, allowing it to operate at lower voltages and requiring virtually no maintenance. The separate "Tube" control allows the harmonic overtones of the Nutube circuit to be continuously added to the audio signal, contributing to a rich yet brilliant sound experience. For users who prefer external equalizers, the handytraxx 1bit's output can be switched from LINE to PHONO, removing the internal equalizer and tube circuit from the signal path. The real highlight of the handytraxx 1bit, however, is its eponymous, integrated 1-bit converter, which, in conjunction with KORG's proprietary audio software AudioGate 4, enables high-resolution digital recording and playback in 5.6 MHz and 2.8 MHz, as well as in PCM formats with resolutions of up to 192 kHz at 24 bits.
