I bought this as a toy for my 1 year old nephew. I thought the sound was quite good for a toy! Only one note was out of tune. I should also advise other people that want this for a young child that the sticks are not ideal for a toddler with no sense of danger - their back is quite pointy.
Nonetheless my nephew loved it!
