The microscopically fine film coating on each wrapped string, as well as a unique polymer treatment of the plain steel strings, give XS a high level of protection against unwanted corrosion while delivering maximum durability and an exceptionally comfortable feel.

XS also has a “NY High Carbon Steel” string core which, in combination with the exclusive “Fusion Twist” technology, guarantees incomparable tear resistance and tuning stability.

A new milestone in coating technology offers maximum protection against sweat and dirt deposits and thus ensures long-lasting sound and durability.

An extremely thin cover is wrapped over the string and then fused with it in order to keep the wrapping spaces free of dirt, while at the same time creating a pleasantly soft feel on the strings.

The legendary D’Addario sound of the strings is preserved because the coating creates less sound attenuation than other coated strings.

By using the “NY Steel” for the string cores, XS delivers unmatched tear strength and tuning stability, which is further enhanced by our proprietary Fusion Twist technology.
