ProMark JH7 timpani mallets feature wooden heads. Japanese oak provides added weight without a larger diameter, which yields enhanced projection. The JH7 mallet provides ultra staccato articulation.

Virtuoso timpanist Jonathan Haas has raised the status of the timpani to that of a solo instrument throughout his unique career From classical concertos to jazz and rock & roll, from symphonic masterpieces to the most experimental compositions of living composers, Haas has championed, commissioned and celebrated music for his instrument, becoming, as Ovation magazine hailed him, "The Paganiniof the timpani."
He is principal percussionist of the American Symphony Orchestra and a member of the American Composers Orchestra and has appeared with virtually every major performing arts organization in New York City. Mr. Haas commissioned and has performed Philip Glass´s Concerto Fantasy for two timpanists and orchestra with the worlds leading orchestras. Mr. Haas has recorded the Grammy Award winning recording Zappas Universe and performed with Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Other recordings include 18th Century Concertos for Timpani and Orchestra and Johnny H. and the Prisoners of Swing for Sunset Records. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Mr. Haas received his master´s degree from the Juilliard School. He is the director NYU Steindhardt Classical Percussion Program, and he is the chair of the Juilliard pre-college percussion division. Jonathan Haas is proud to be a ProMark artist and author of the JH line of timpani mallets.
