Description

  • CUSTOM PICKUPS

We design our own proprietary custom pickups, to achieve the best tonal match with our instruments. Reverend pickups are also specifically designed for each position, for balanced volume and tone when switching.

  • KORINA BODY

Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

  • BASS CONTOUR

This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil, or give a P-90 that classic twang. Variable pickup voicing at your fingertips!

  • PIN-LOCK TUNERS

A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes. Also, the posts are custom height, eliminating the need for a second string tree.

  • OPTIC INTERRUPTION GRAPHIC

The body of the JW-1 is topped with a graphic from textile artist April Camlin?s ?Optic Interruption,? while the back and sides are Midnight Black to highlight the pattern. She adapted the pattern for the project, and Reverend designer Joe Naylor matched it to the Charger HB-style guitar.

  • BONEITE NUT

We use "Boneite," a synthetic bone nut, that is more consistent than natural bone, on all Reverend instruments. It reduces friction, allowing the strings to slide through the nut slots smoothly, improving tuning stability.

  • PLAYED BY

Jenn Wasner / Wye Oak, Flock of Dimes

The Reverend Jenn Wasner Signature JW-1 combines the dynamic power of the Charger HB with the visual aesthetic of Jenn's projects (Wye Oak, Flock of Dimes, Dungeonesse). We partnered with the Baltimore textile artist who created Jenn's stage wear, April Camlin, to create the graphic, called "Optic Interruption." The visual effect is as dynamic as the sound.

Brand

Reverend Guitars began quietly, in a garage behind a bicycle shop in East Detroit in 1997. Joe Naylor drew upon his years of study in Industrial Design, Lutherie School, and professional vintage guitar repair to create the first Reverend Guitar. It was unusual in its design, but what impressed most people was the attention to detail that Joe put into the instrument. The brand has now grown to encompass a global presence and has garnered the attention of rock stars, working musicians, journalists, and kingmakers from all across the industry. Reverend offers many shapes and styles of guitars and basses, but the one thing that remains the same is the professional quality that's available for everyone - whether you're selling out amphitheaters or playing in your living room. Currently based in Toledo, Ohio, Reverend is run by Ken and Penny Haas. All of the guitars are expertly designed by Joe Naylor, proudly manufactured in South Korea by boutique guitar manufacturer Mirr Music, and meticulously set up by our tech team - lead by Zach Green who initials each one before it goes out the door. From the well-known to the unknown, players of all stripes are impressed because Reverend pays attention to what makes an instrument the kind of instrument players want to play. And that, by the way, is where Reverend's attention will always lie.
