The Pa5X ORIENTAL, with its completely redesigned sound engine and user interface, features a special user interface that makes it easy for newbies and those switching over to the new world to get started: Logical color codes across multiple levels, large displays and buttons, and photo-quality icons facilitate navigation through thousands of inspiring sounds and vibrant styles for virtually every music genre.
The KORG Pa5X ORIENTAL features two completely independent players that can play styles, MIDI files, and MP3 files—in any combination! This makes it possible to mix two styles or even play them synchronously. The "Smooth Sound Transition" function ensures that no notes or effects are cut off during crossfading or switching.

Building on the Pa5X standard model, the Pa5X ORIENTAL offers the same features, sounds, and styles, but expands them with a huge collection of oriental sounds and rhythms from the musical world of the Middle East. Countless strings and wind instruments, as well as drum and percussion kits, were recorded by renowned Turkish, Arabic, and Persian professional musicians and form the basis for the musical diversity that the Pa5X ORIENTAL has to offer. A special round-robin function ensures ultra-authentic and vibrant drum sounds.
The Pa5X ORIENTAL features a virtual keyboard on the touchscreen display, which can be used to select alternative scales or tune individual keys on the fly. It is also possible to use multiple different scales simultaneously, so that, for example, the solo part sounds in an Arabic scale while the accompaniment tracks continue to play in equal temperament.

The keyboard is of high quality and exudes timeless elegance: wooden side panels nestle against a sturdy, black aluminum casing. Real-time control of many parameters is easy thanks to an additional strip display and the corresponding buttons and faders, as the display always shows the value of the respective parameter. A large chord sequence library invites you to jam, and the 8-inch, tiltable and lockable, tablet-quality touchscreen displays all chords, lyrics, and (MIDI file) notes in high-resolution.

In addition to the microphone connection, there's a separate guitar input with its own gain . Up to four guitar effects can be saved as presets and recalled for each track in the freely programmable songbook. A four-voice harmonizer is also on board, as is an autopitch function for contemporary vocal performances.
