The TBO-9 combines Clean Boost and Overdrive capabilities to create a versatile tone-shaping tool.

The ideal complement to non-master volume tube amps, the TBO allows you to drive a clean or semi-clean amp to the breaking point, giving it that "on 10" tonality at a much lower volume level and without altering the amp's signature tone.

Description

The TBO-9's tube stage is controlled by the Boost knob which adds a fat, warm bottom end with a slight mid bump as it increases the output level.

The Drive knob blends clean and distorted signals, allowing the user to dial in a small amount of grit with minimal coloration.

The TBO-9 features internal voltage doublers that bump the incoming 9 VDC up to 30 VDC for massive headroom and maximum transparency.

When you need to drive your amp without driving the audience towards the door, the TBO-9 does the job without commanding the center stage.

amazing

this is an amazing edition to any rig and delivers on the promise to get a classic tube sound out of solid state gear. i use it mostly with a dobro mounted with a national slimline humbucker and then this pedal and then DI into the PA at smaller venues, or via aFender Princeton when recording. the sound is seriously good. rootsy, silky smooth. dial up the gain and the tone starts to crack.... its a money-maker .

Brand

In 1969, Maxon became an effects pedal manufacturer, primarily as a producer of OEM products for other companies. During the 1970s Ibanez became one of the company's main OEM customers. Maxon designed and manufactured the now legendary TS-808 and TS9 Tube Screamers for Ibanez, and many other models, including the FL9 Flanger, CS9 Chorus, and AD9 Analog Delay. The brand also marketed its pedals under its own Maxon name during this time. When Ibanez parted away in 2002, Maxon began to more aggressively market its own line of pedals. Repositioning itself as a manufacturer of high-end mass-produced effects, Maxon expanded its line of analog pedals, using rare NOS components and classic circuit designs that are to this day highly respected and sought after. The company prides itself on a reputation of quality over quantity.
