Description

Modulation is provided by a multi-waveshape LFO and Poly Mod, a ground-breaking modulation scheme for its time that allowed the filter envelope and oscillator B to be routed to a variety of destinations including filter cutoff frequency, oscillator A frequency, and oscillator A pulse width.

Other modern enhancements include velocity sensitivity and aftertouch to increase expressiveness, as well as MIDI and USB connectivity. Control voltage and gate ins/outs are also present for connecting modular synths and other gear. The new modules are housed in a premium-quality, steel case with hand-oiled sustainable black walnut heartwood trim.

Que dire de plus?
Le Prophet 5 est LE synthé analogique polyphonique inimitable et unique. Un son reconnaissable immédiatement, chaud, profond, organique et puissant. À l’aise dans tous les styles sonores.
Un très beau synthétiseur, fait de bois et de métal, très bien fini, presque une œuvre d’art…
Et avec une grande fiabilité.

Brand

Sequential est dirigé par le légendaire concepteur d'instruments et lauréat d'un Grammy Award, Dave Smith, fondateur de Sequential Circuits en 1974. En 1977, Dave a conçu le Prophet-5, le premier synthé polyphonique entièrement programmable au monde, et le premier instrument de musique avec microprocesseur intégré. Au cours des dix années suivantes, Sequential a lancé de nombreux instruments et boîtes à rythmes innovants. Dave est connu pour avoir été le moteur de la spécification MIDI en 1981. En fait, c'est Dave qui a inventé l'acronyme. En 1987, il a été nommé membre de l'Audio Engineering Society (AES) pour son travail continu dans le domaine de la synthèse musicale. Après Sequential, Dave a été président de DSD, Inc, une division de R&D de Yamaha, où il a travaillé sur la synthèse par modélisation physique et les concepts de synthétiseurs software. Il a ensuite créé le groupe de R&D Korg en Californie, produisant la Wavestation et d'autres technologies. Il a pris la présidence de Seer Systems et a développé le premier synthétiseur software pour Intel en 1994, suivi du premier synthétiseur numérique professionnel, Reality, sorti en 1997. Conscient des limites du software, Dave est revenu au matériel physique et a créé Dave Smith Instruments, en commençant par le synthétiseur hybride analogique/numérique Evolver en 2002. La gamme de produits s'est élargie pour inclure les synthétiseurs Prophet X, Prophet Rev2, Prophet-6, OB-6 (avec Tom Oberheim), Pro 2 et Prophet 12, ainsi que la boîte à rythmes Tempest (avec Roger Linn).
