- The A8H is the top model in the A series. This 3-way loudspeaker delivers the highest level of resolution and sonic precision - perfect for the most demanding listening tasks. The A8H has an 8-inch woofer made of multi-layer mineral fiber material (MLM), an innovative midrange driver and ADAM Audio's hand-made X-ART tweeter. Like all models in the A series, the A8H offers innovative features for individual adaptation to personal listening habits and the acoustic environment: This is ensured by a rotatable HPS waveguide and integrated DSP technology. The A8H is suitable for all conceivable listening situations in medium and large rooms. It is the perfect choice when the highest possible fidelity is required. Rotatable HPS waveguide and X-ART tweeter The ADAM Audio HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide ensures precisely directed sound guidance with a wide horizontal beam angle and tight vertical focus. All models in the A series use the rotatable HPS waveguide design, which allows the tweeter to be rotated by 90 degrees. This means that the monitor can be used both vertically and horizontally - without having to forego the advantages of the waveguide. The A series HPS waveguide is made from a new type of fiberglass polymer material. Its high density minimizes unwanted resonances and supports a clear sound image. The ADAM Audio X-ART tweeter is located in the center of the rotatable HPS waveguide. Handcrafted in Germany, this tweeter guarantees maximum impulse fidelity and richness of detail. All models in the A series are equipped with this X-ART tweeter. Multi-layer mineral woofer The membrane of an A-series woofer consists of several layers of mineral fiber material that are firmly connected to one another. This material is characterized by minimal weight and maximum rigidity. The exact properties have been specially adapted for each loudspeaker model. In combination with the newly developed magnet system, every woofer from the A-series delivers exceptionally high levels with minimal distortion - essential for clean and powerful bass reproduction. Midrange The midrange of the A-series is based on the highly acclaimed DHC midrange of the S-series - ADAM Audio's high-end monitors. In the mid-frequency range, the ear reacts particularly sensitively to sound colorations. This is precisely where the new midrange ensures exceptionally clean reproduction. In addition, it relieves the woofer of the reproduction of medium frequencies. Both the A77H and the A8H are designed as 3-way systems and are equipped with the A-series midrange driver. Hybrid amplification The A-Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds: The woofers are driven by Class D amplifiers - ideal for linear performance and minimal distortion. The amplifiers used impress with their high efficiency, which goes hand in hand with low heat generation. This creates potential for further improvements and even higher performance. Class AB amplifiers are used for tweeters and midrange speakers. They are known for their particularly neutral reproduction of high frequencies. Each amplifier is precisely optimized for its frequency range. The selection and combination of the individual components are the result of countless measurements and listening sessions in the ADAM Audio development laboratories. DSP-based electronics Thanks to powerful DSP technology, all A-Series monitors offer significantly improved and more extensive fine-tuning options than purely analog speakers. The firmware can be updated at any time via an Ethernet connection. A-Series monitors therefore always have ADAM Audio's latest DSP features - such as new filter types and "voicings". Adaptation to the room acoustics For optimal adaptation to the acoustic environment, there is a 4-band equalizer with the parameters “Bass”, “Desk”, “Presence” and “Treble” on the back of every A series loudspeaker. Over 100 fine-tuning options enable adaptation to the most demanding listening environments in a matter of seconds.
