Sometimes this classic piece is the only choice. After all these years, it's still the go-to vocal mic internationally; especially for live vocals. In the studio, sometimes a 58 is the best choice even given high end options; (it's inexpensive, hard to distort, and the EQ compliments many voices.) I feel the same way about the SM57's, especially for tomtom's.
Was very happy with the product. SHURE quality is top.
If you're going for something really good with a correct budget, buy this mic !

P.S. It'd have been very nice if the package included a small sponge to protect the mic
I am really happy with this microphone, it has a good quality/price ratio , in the future I'm going to need something more professional but for starters it's the best.
If you're looking for a first microphone. This is the one! By far the standard microphone used worldwide for anything 'live'.
Perfect singer companion for live vocals. Immune to feedback. Great harmonica recording tool. Classic and solid build. The best value money can buy. One of the best since decades.
