Description

Knuckles '92 Dual Rec Amplifier delivers the searing high-gain tone that powered legendary punk, alt rock, and metal bands from Foo Fighters and Incubus to Nevermore, Dream Theater, and more.

Giving you six classic mic and speaker pairings, built in TS-style OD/boost, and noise gate, Knuckles puts the authentic genre-defining sound of one of the world's most ferocious high-gain amps under your boots.

Plug into the California King of High Gain

Whether you seek the gritty power chords of punk and alternative anthems by the likes of Dave Grohl and Incubus or the complex aggression of Nevermore and Dream Theater, Knuckles ‘92 puts one of the most versatile multi-channel amps ever made right on your pedalboard.*

Explore a Range of Rectifier Tones

Use the famed green, orange, and red channels to explore perfect cleans to bone-crushing crunch and smoldering lead sounds. Then experiment with EL-34 or 6L6 power tubes and switch between solid-state or tube rectifiers for ultimate control and feel under your fingertips.

Play Through Perfect Preamp Boosts

Knuckles '92 is equipped with a classic TS-style overdrive — a tried and true component for tight, articulate playing — and an integrated preamp boost that’s famous for sculpted modern metal tones. And with its built-in noise gate giving clear sound even at extreme gain settings, you’ll melt faces the minute you power it up.

Get Six Epic Mic & Speaker Pairings

Experiment with six mic and speaker pairings used on countless iconic records. From alt rock anthems to de-tuned nu-metal brutality, Knuckles ‘92 captures the full essence of playing through one of the greatest aggressive amps ever made.

Brand

Pioneering audio recording for more than 60 years. Founded in 1958 by Bill Putnam Sr., Universal Audio has been synonymous with innovative recording products since its inception. A favorite engineer of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and more, the late Bill Putnam Sr. was a passionate innovator who is widely regarded as the father of modern recording — with many of his legendary studio and equipment designs still in use today. Specifically, Putnam was the inventor of the modern recording console, the multi-band audio equalizer, and the vocal booth, and he was the first engineer to use artificial reverberation in commercial recording. Alongside his friend Les Paul, Putnam was also involved in the early development of stereophonic recording. Putnam, a natural entrepreneur, started three audio product companies during his long career: Universal Audio, Studio Electronics, and UREI. All three companies built equipment that remains widely used decades after their introduction, including the ubiquitous LA-2A and 1176 compressors, and the 610 tube recording console. The 610 console in particular stands as one of the most beloved designs in audio history, used to record everyone from Sinatra to the Beach Boys to Van Halen’s eponymous debut.
