Description
Analog sound generation and digital MULTI-ENGINE
The voice architecture of the minilogue xd module consists of two VCOs + MULTI ENGINE, a VCF, two EGs, a VCA and an LFO. In addition to the special circuits such as wave shaping for shaping the overtones of the oscillator and a SYNC / RING circuit that characterize the instruments of the logue series, the minilogue xd module also offers cross modulation, a 2-pole filter that supports both can sound sharp as well as fat, as well as a drive circuit that condenses the signal and enriches it with additional overtones before the filter. Each parameter has been specially tailored to the needs of modern musicians and synthesizer lovers. The sounds range from warm, typically analog pads to fat basses and assertive lead sounds. Thus they cover every musical application.
High quality digital effects
The high-quality, digital effects of the minilogue xd module have a 32-bit floating point DSP unit and give an already profound sound design platform the final, professional touch. The three effect types (modulation effects, reverb and delay) can be used simultaneously and offer a large, varied selection of different chorus, ensemble, delay and reverb effects. In addition, the User Effect Slots offer the option of loading additional effect programs into the instrument.
Expandability with user content for infinite sound potential
The minilogue xd module is equipped with an expandable open source environment. The device offers 16 slots for user oscillators and 16 additional slots for user effects. Oscillators and effects created using the SDK (Software Development Kit) can be loaded into the minilogue xd module using the special minilogue xd Librarian software. This user content can be created yourself - provided you have the appropriate programming knowledge. However, ready-made user oscillators and effects are also offered for sale by various software developers or are sometimes even available free of charge.
Polyphonic step sequencer
One of the greatest advantages of the minilogue xd series is without a doubt the powerful 16-step sequencer. Each of the factory presets comes with its own sequencer pattern, which is geared towards performance purposes. The sequencer offers 16 steps and supports both real-time and step recording. The 16 step buttons can be used to select a single step directly, for example to change the pitch, to mute the step or to improvise within a performance. The motion sequence feature allows the movements of up to four controllers to be recorded and automated, which enables time-based sound variations. Both slight tonal changes and more drastic variations per step can be implemented here. This feature allows you to set different parameter values for each individual step. So it is z. B. possible to realize a complete drum pattern or a complex sound effect with just a single sound program. Let your ideas run wild!
Poly-chain function
The minilogue xd module can also be used in combination with another device (* 2) from the minilogue xd series (* 1) to increase the number of voices. Simply set up one device as a master and the second as a slave to play both together as a single, eight-part polyphonic analog synthesizer (* 3). This allows a variety of application areas for the minilogue xd module, e.g. B. as an extension to a minilogue xd or as a sound module for a DAW-based music production system. * 1: For devices with a keyboard, the operating system version 1.10 or higher is required. * 2: Any combination of minilogue xd and minilogue xd module can be used. * 3: Both xd devices can each play four voices, which means a maximum of eight voices. In this case, the master device generates the first four voices, while voices 5 to 8 are taken over by the slave device.
The desktop module is equipped with the same control elements as the keyboard version, which is why it is suitable both as an additional sound module for an existing keyboard or DAW and for performing and spontaneous tweaking of sounds. Thus, the Minilogue XD Module is a uniquely simple and space-saving option to integrate a polyphonic analog synthesizer into your setup. In addition, the module is equipped with a poly-chain function, which makes it possible to connect another Minilogue XD or another Minilogue XD module. So both can be operated together as a polysynth with 8 voices.
Expand your setup with the versatile sounds of the Minilogue XD!
